Augmented Reality Photos / Virtual Green screen

Have you ever wanted to take a picture with your favorite celebrity? With Augmented Reality (also known as Virtual Green Screen) you can! Augmented reality refers to a live view of a real-world environment that is "augmented" with computer generated images or graphics. It allows you to insert an overlay border with a celebrity or object, which the consumer can position themselves next to. The consumer can see themselves next to this virtual person or object on a monitor in front of them and pose accordingly. The background will remain constant, but the virtual person or object will be inserted adjacent to the consumer in the final photo. This allows you to put your arm around George Clooney, pose next to Godzilla, or even hold the world in the palm of your hands.

Augmented reality can be implemented as a photo station or with our signature Mobile Squids. We use our Mobile Squid to allow the consumer to view their position relative to the virtual person or object on a mounted overhead video screen attached to the Squid. The virtual person/object is then instantly inserted into the consumers’ final photos, along with a branded border.

Consumers can retrieve their photo online via a branded microsite or on their mobile phone. As with all of our solutions, the images are instantly available online. In addition, photos can be printed on-site and given to consumers immediately.

How is all this possible?
  • Consumers are excited and very willing to participate in an activity that involves a well-known celebrity or an entertaining object.
  • Because the keepsake photo features a celebrity or interactive object, consumers are more likely to retrieve, keep, and e-mail to friends. They are also more eager to post the photo to a social media site to showcase it to everyone they know.
  • Providing an opportunity to compliment an event’s tone with the addition of augmented reality, each activation is custom and unique.
  • Consumer data can be collected on-site or on retrieval website.
