To attract a young, alternative demographic, Efilm Studio created a skateboarding Video Play-by-Play, which was also a nod to Vans, the music festival’s title sponsor. Amidst sets of live punk rock tunes, consumers could create their own show at the AT&T footprint. At the AT&T main stage, fans practiced their skills as an extreme sports TV host, commenting on videos of pro skaters performing tricks like backside rolls and frontside carves. Participants received a retrieval card so they could view their video at home and share with friends and family. Online video retrieval encouraged fans to share their videos, creating a viral impact and extending AT&T’s reach to interaction beyond the music tour. Video Play-by-Play provided an interactive activity that attracted target consumers and created additional excitement in the AT&T footprint.
